I am a growing artist who always wants to try new techniques and styles! Most of all I want to grow and mature as an artist. I'm like a bean sprout; I need lots of TLC (Tender Loving Criticism) to grow! So feel free to critique my works with lots of constructive criticism. Or lots of love. Or both.

:heart::heart::heart:

I am also a traveling deviantart critic. What I do is find something to critique using the "Random Deviant" or "Random Deviation" option, and I unleash the best sugar-coated advice I can give. While some of the work in my gallery is also well-deserved of a good critique, I aim to make better artists...not flame.

Top of the Hill

Tue May 26, 2009, 9:40 AM
Hello my friends!
Well, I’ve done it: I’ve climbed the stupid grassy hill that is high school.
And I’m off to a new life.
Wow.

In the almost-autumn, I will be attending an art school in Boston.
There I will learn all sorts of grand things, like animation and glass blowing and casting and molding. And sculpting and industrial design and color theory. But until then, there is a void. And what will I do to fill it?

I will establish myself as a comic artist. Not only do I have my (world famous?) math comic to build a website for, I want to make doujinshi.
Looking at the works of Halco, and reading the various fanfictions scattered across the web, I have made it my duty to create a Greed/Kimblee, perhaps Archer/Kimblee doujin.
I’m guessing I will take it to print, but I’m also guessing I will end up spilling the beans and just posting it to deviantart instead.
I’m a mess.
This project will take a while, so it may not be ready until even August.

Also, I want to remaster my math comic as well as produce a script for my combat founding fathers comic.
In the midst of this, I need to take trips to the Woburn Public Library a lot in order to focus the thoughts concerning my larger comic, which I want to turn into a full-fledged manga one day. <3

My goal is to become a dealer in the artist’s alley; thus, I need to work on designing and making merchandise to sell next year.
In the artist’s alley at AB, the same old characters are always portrayed. Every stand had the same people.
Every stand had the same merchandise, too.
Buttons, bookmarks, and prints.
Some had the occasional tote bag or keychain, but most of it was the same.
My goal: to embrace minor characters!
To merchandise every character I can draw!
It pains me to no end to see a lack of Kimblee and Greed stuff… it’s so very sad.
Thus!
My mission remains in focus.
I will also make it my duty, as a prospective Industrial Design major, to come up with some new merchandise to sell. <3.
Commissions for analog and digital paintings might work as well.
I’ll have to leave figures and sculptures up to the year after, though. *cough*

I want to write 2 more short stories by the end of summer, which I will send to publication whenever they’re accepting.
In order to facilitate this goal, I need to read, study like a hermit, watch movies, and do word of the day.

I filled a whole binder with inspiration last summer, and this summer I intend to fill two.
Printing pictures and dissecting magazines may hold they key to merchandising and style ideas. AWESOME~~~~!!!

I want to attempt to make a cel-animation video using photoshop and windows movie maker using either “Fantastic Gentleman” by Medicated Kisses or “Tears Dry On Their Own” by Amy Winehouse.
I might actually need to find a male vocalist for such endeavors, but in any case…I want to bring to the world a dazzling display of Zolf J. Kimblee through animation and film.
He….is great.
This project will be a difficult, tedious, and time-consuming one, so I even doubt I will finish it this summer.
Nevertheless, I will try my best.
And mayhaps for a warmup, I could make an FMA caramelldansen or smooooooch video.

In the midst of all this, I need to be preparing myself for college!
Between getting a job and working and buying toaster ovens and microwaves, making over my wardrobe and my work ethic, will I have time to pursue my goals?

I want to start doing deviantart commissions. I'm not sure how much I will charge for specific works, or how I will charge; I will have a menu of sorts soon.
While I want to start real commissions soon, I do want to see how good I am with artistic deadlines.
Thus, as a special present to three readers of this too-long journal I have three slots open for free commissions.
Yup, yup. I will draw whoever, whatever for three of you (except fairies or furries, please. I hate said creatures.)~!
If you are not one of the three free commissionees, but you still want me to make you something, email me at liaskye@yahoo.com. Perhaps we'll finagle something.

Becoming a better artist is hard work. Becoming a successful artist is even harder work.

I'm your long lost twin brother!!!!

wait ....no that's not right because I'm 2 years older than you, I read it in a comment I believe, something about the moon landing and your birthday being the same.

Did you have a good 18th? Can you do anything legally you couldn't do before (Not to sure about American Law)?

:iconlia-bug:
Hooray for being quasi-tiwns, haha! I actually have an older brother who's 35, and we call each other our twins...so you win, I suppose!

My 18th was...well I actually don't remember what my 18th was like...but my 20th was good! I went to Harvard Square and bought anime figurines~!

Yes! According to American law, I am legally allowed to see R-rated movies, buy tobacco products, pornography, and play the lotto. I have yet to do any of these things, though...I'm slackin'! :giggle:

Cool, I have an older brother but one 16 months older, plus we hate each other ....so yay!!!

I thought you turned 18 years old. Unless you thought i meant the 18th of july then your comment is valid. What kind of anime Figurines did you buy.

I suggest doing the first or last one those are the best the middle two are evil and wrong, plus the older you get the more embrassing they become.
