"Ira" means "Wrath" in Latin.
(It does NOT mean the Irish Republican Army, thank you very much.)
It is also the surname of this character--Lord Ira--who is an original character of mine.

Whew! 12 hours later, he's finally done!
I wanted to do some work with my OCs, so this is the first of the "Portrait Series". This was a really challenging (yet fun!) piece to do; thus, I intend to create more of these portraits for the rest of my characters. He was painted 100% digitally from a pencil sketch, and the background is composed of watercolors.

A Few Tidbits About Ira
Ira makes his own leather. Kills his own cows. Sews his own jackets and brands his own belts. He gets his designer jeans from Nordstrom's, however.
Not only is Ira's first name "Lord", it is also his title! Ira owns spectral property (and many farmlands) on earth, and he will inherit the Ira family circle of Hell once the politics have been sorted out. (Which will technically make his name be Lord Lord Ira.)
Ira is fanatical about two things in life: his duties as a lord, and his sideburns.
Ira has a fake half-German, half-New Jersey accent that fluctuates in and out of speech. Don't make fun of him; he worked hard on that accent.
Ira enjoys lower back massages, playing the drums, FiberOne bars, breaking things, witnessing destruction, scaring children, scrapbooking (his scrapbook is frickin' epic, you should see it!), going to museums and public monuments with his human pet Charles, starting fires, working out, and playing Scrabble. He knows all the q words that don't need u's. He's unbeatable at Scrabble.
Ira wears belts on his jaw to hide the remains of a terrible burn. His speech is thus muffled. Due to this (and his "accent"), it is rather hard to decipher his speech.
Ira prefers to write in cursive. In fact, he dislikes reading books, magazines, and internet articles because they are not printed in cursive.
Ira is extremely angry that his name is not printed in cursive in this painting.
He is also upset that he is number 3, not number 1.
